Local Student Wins Big at National History Fair

Mia Radovanovic is a senior at Palm Harbor University High School.

A Palm Harbor University High Schooler recently won a National History Day Award for project on the introduction of birth control.

Mia Radovanovic, a senior at Palm Harbor High, placed third in the Senior Individual Exhibit category. The title of her project was "Margaret Sanger: The Birth of Women's Control."

The contest was held in June at the University of Maryland College Park. Mia was joined with other students from Palm Harbor and East Lake who were finalists in local history day contests.

The following students who attended included:

  •  Rylee Gorman and Austin Staubs, from Palm Harbor Middle School, who won first place locally in the Junior Group Website category for Credit Cards.
  • Taylor Shelby and Abbigail Hines, from East Lake High School, who won third place locally in the Senior Group Exhibit category for Through the Lens of Time.
