Palm Harbor Rescue's 1st Safe Sitter Course Attracts Full House
Palm Harbor Fire Rescue hosted its first Safe Sitter program, which proved so popular the next class has a waiting list.
PALM HARBOR, FL — During the month of June, Palm Harbor Fire Rescue public educator Liz Graham hosted the rescue's first Safe Sitter program, which proved so popular there's now a waiting list for a second class.
Safe Sitter is for young teens in grades six to eight who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children.
"This age group has always been a challenge to reach at school because of their rigorous course schedule, so having this program in the fire department not only allows us to follow a vetted curriculum but also incorporates fire safety for our teens," Graham said.
