Student Charged With Threatening Mass Shooting At Palm Harbor School
Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said making shooting threats toward schools in no joke and students will be arrested and prosecuted.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 13-year-old Pinellas County students has been arrested and charged with making written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting.
On Saturday, Pinellas County sheriff's deputies arrested the teen accused of sending messages in a group chat via Snapchat to another student regarding participating in a school shooting that at Carwise Middle School, 3301 Bentley Drive, Palm Harbor.
Deputies say the teen told the other student he would shoot him first if he reported the incident to anyone. The student who received the messages notified his parents, who contacted law enforcement.

Deputies went to the teen's home where he told them that the message was a joke. Nevertheless, he was arrested and taken to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
"The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office remains committed to keeping our schools, our children and our community safe," said Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.
