Tarpon Springs Fire Video and Photos Ignite Social Media
The overnight Sponge Docks fire prompted many to take to the Internet with questions, photos and comments.
Two boats caught fire at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks on Tuesday night, turning the Anclote River "into a lake of fire," according to the Tampa Bay Times.
More than 5,000 gallons of fuel was believed to have been on board the vessel that first caught fire. That vessel was a shrimp boat and caught fire around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. A second boat caught fire hours later, according to this ABC Action News video.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, Julie Bouesso Rehbein, wrote: "Rumor has it that more than one boat is on fire?! I hope not!"
Just before 11 p.m. over on Twitter, Derek Sivers tweeted "It's almost gone #spongedocks #boatfire #TarponSprings to local media.

The Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce posted this status update to their Facebook page Wednesday morning: "Thank you to the many firefighters who responded last evening to the shrimp boat fire at the sponge docks! We are blessed that there were no injuries!"
Minutes later, James Hanks responded to the chamber's message with this message: "All emergency officials appeared very much on top of the situation. Nice work!"
