PALM HARBOR, FL — California-based Trader Joe’s is opening a new grocery store in the Clearwater area this year.

The new northern Pinellas County store is “coming soon” and will be built at 33591 U.S. Highway 19 N. in Palm Harbor, according to the grocery chain’s website.

“We've consulted our maps and compass and have found a terrific location for a store in Clearwater, FL,” the website said. “We are proud to be joining the neighborhood, and to continue our commitment to providing nourishment to the surrounding communities through our Neighborhood Shares program.”

While the opening date hasn’t been announced, the company said, “Our crew is working hard so we can open our door in 2024.”

It will be Trader Joe’s fifth store in the greater Tampa Bay area. There are currently locations in St. Petersburg, Tampa, Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch.
