Here are the top three stories in Panama City today:

  1. Nearby Panama City Beach celebrated the 29th Scottish Festival and Highland Games over the weekend. The celebration of Scottish culture and history saw an estimated 5,000 attendees at Frank Brown Park for the festivities, which include the popular Scottish Highland Games. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  2. The Panama City community celebrated the Hindu holiday of Holi on Saturday for the first time at a facility in the city. The holiday is traditionally celebrated each March and celebrates the coming of spring or colors and love. During celebrations, attendees traditionally throw colors at each other.   3. Officials reported that the Bare Foot Boulevard Fire is about 95 percent contained as of Monday morning. The fire is the second forest fire in Bay County just within the last month and impacted about 30 acres east of U.S. 231. The center manager for the Florida Forest Service, Mike Mathis, attributed the recent fires to a lack of rainfall over the last two months. (Panama City News Herald)
