Through Project 10Million, which aims to deliver internet connectivity to millions of underserved student households at no cost to them, the District has secured 35,000 hotspots with unlimited high-speed data for M-DCPS students in grades K-12 who do not have home internet access. The hotspots are available for immediate distribution to students, on a first come, first served basis. Participation in this program is strongly encouraged for those students and families in need. There is no fee or cost to students. Parents are urged to contact an administrator at their child’s school to request a free hotspot with internet connectivity.

“Our partnership with T-Mobile and Project 10Million is an important part of M-DCPS' continuing efforts to bridge the digital divide. Through this initiative, we can provide students, who don’t have internet access at home, with hotspots and high-speed internet at no cost to the students or their families,” said Dr. Sylvia J. Diaz, Chief Academic Officer, Office of Academics and Transformation. “The evolution that many school districts like ours are undergoing – moving towards increased online learning environments and digital resources – brings to the forefront the need for reliable home internet access for students to engage equitably in educational opportunities.” “This new partnership builds on a long history with M-DCPS – one we hope will expand for many years as T-Mobile’s Project 10Million continues to connect millions of students across the country and in Florida,” said David Bezzant, Vice President, T-Mobile for Government. “Last year, we announced that Project 10Million will connect 600,000 students across the state over five years, and we want students in Miami-Dade to benefit. We’ve already made a big impact and we’re just getting started!” To learn more about Project 10Million, visit http://www.t-mobile.com/p10m.
