Art Means Business for Sheri Salin
lin has been working as a professional fine artist for more than 15 years and has found healing from a troubled past along the way.
As a child, Sheri Salin dreamed of being an artist. The idea of making a career out of self expression seemed like the perfect fit for her creative side. After more than a decade in the business, Salin has established herself as a staying power in the fine art industry.
Over the years, she has experienced most avenues of the business. From helping folks with interior design to informing art collectors, Salin has done a little bit of everything.
Before discovering art as means of survival, Sheri ran into hardship. “I lost everything” she remembers. Financial struggles eventually put Salin out of work and a home. She also lost a relationship she was in at the time. Like a lot of people, Salin fell into a fit of depression.
“Art became a form of healing for me” Salin explains. “At that point, I hadn’t had any sort of formal training. I just started to paint.”
One thing lead to another and Salin found herself in a speedy snowball of success. “Things just really took off for me” she said. Salin began selling her art and became recognized as an up and coming fine artist.
Her artwork is currently on display at Indian Shores’ own Salt Rock Grill.
“Up to this point, my life has been a journey of self discovery” Salin explains. She says that she lost everything in the outer world, but that finding the inner world is what it’s all about: “the inner world is cultural, it’s fun and it’s kind of magical.”
