Beachy Lodgings: Keystone Motel a Family Tradition

The Keystone Motel on Pass-A-Grille is dedicated to its roots as a family-owned and operated business.

411: Bruno Reitano was an Italian immigrant who lived in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He discovered Pass-A-Grille on a train trip to Florida. After stumbling upon this little piece of paradise, Reitano decided right then and there that Pass-A-Grille would one day be a top-notch tourist desination.

Following his gut instinct, he built the Keystone Motel in 1945. The motel has been family-owned and operated since then. It is a family business to this day. That is quite remarkable.

The Keystone Motel is always renovating and improving the property. Upgrades happen once a month after staff decides what should be done next. Suggestions from guests are encouraged so that the staff can always strive to satisfy vacationers.

The Draw: One of the most attractive points of this motel is the overall sense of family that guests receive upon their arrival. The Keystone Motel states that their ultimate goal with each guest is to make their stay a “tropical, memorable one.” Guests – and their comfort – are the priority at the Keystone Motel.

Rates: Keystone Motel keeps the prices down, so that guests can enjoy a vacation on a budget. Rooms start at $85 and run up to about $130, depending on the time of year.
