Beware of Window Film Advertised as Hurricane Protection: AG
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is warning Floridians that there is no evidence to back up statements about window film working as hurricane shields.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is warning consumers about "window film" being advertised as protection against hurricane-force winds.
In her weekly email newsletter, Bondi said that consumers in Florida should be wary of claims some companies are making about the durability of window films.
The Florida Building Commission has not approved window film as a form of hurricane protection, Bondi wrote, adding that "therefore, it cannot be advertised as offering hurricane protection."

With hurricane season starting Saturday, Bondi said that her office is investigating several companies making the claims.
The AG's Office has entered eight settlement agreements so far to resolve these alleged practices.
