Boat Burglary Suspect Sought In Belleair Beach: Pinellas Sheriff

There's been a recent string of boat burglaries along the intracoastal waterway between Belleair Beach and Madeira Beach, the sheriff said.

BELLEAIR BLUFFS, FL — Detectives are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect in a boat burglary in Belleair Bluffs last month, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.

The victim reported the burglary on Aug. 13.

A Garmin GPS and stereo equipment were stolen from the boat, which was out of the water and on a lift in the backyard of the home, the sheriff’s office said.

Surveillance video showed three men on a Gheenoe boat fishing in the area just before the burglary.

Shortly after, a man wearing all black clothing and a mesh-type mask covering his face was seen walking on the victim’s boat dock, PCSO said.

Detectives have linked four separate boat burglaries of a similar nature that were reported along the intracoastal waterway between Belleair Beach and Madeira Beach.
