A 63-year-old Carnival Paradise passenger was medevaced by the Coast Guard to Fort DeSoto Saturday night and then transferred to an awaiting ambulance crew and local hospital.
The captain of the Carnival Paradise contacted Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, reporting that the man was experiencing heart attack symptoms and required medical assistance.
A 45-foot Response boat with a crew from Coast Guard Station Cortez responded to the cruise ship, which was 12 miles west of the Tampa coast.
