Drummers, Deputies Team To 'Beat Bullying' Out of Schools
The 12-hour drumming event is hoped to raise awareness about the problem of bullying in Pinellas County Schools.

SEMINOLE, FL — Pinellas County families are invited to take a spirited stand against bullying in local schools.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has announced it plans to team up with several notable area musicians for a 12-hour drumming event “designed to raise awareness about the problem of bullying, and to beat bullying out of Pinellas County Schools.”
Set to take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, the marathon drum session will be staged in the multipurpose room of Osceola Middle School, 9301 98th St. N. Drummers will include Casey Grillo, also known as “Kamelot,” Steve Turner of Giving Tree Music and Gumbi Ortiz. Seminole Music & Sound will also be on hand.

The “Beat the Bullies” event will also see participation from School Resource Deputy Ural Darling, other law enforcement officers, teachers, students and community leaders. The hope is the event will remind people to intervene and prevent bullying before matters escalate, the sheriff’s office wrote in a media release.
Anyone interested in coming out to support the event and say “no” to bullying is welcome to attend.
