With the summer's peaking temperatures, being in need of a pick-me-up can happen quite frequently. Whether you crave the protein of meat or a simply sweet indulgence, the beach has plenty of options to fulfill your belly's needs.

For a midday pit stop, try the Hurricane's Fresh Buccaneer sandwich ($9). A fresh chicken breast is cooked one of two ways, grilled or deep fried, then it is covered in wing sauce and ranch dressing. Provolone cheese is wedged between the mouth watering selection on a corn dusted kaiser bun. Enjoy your choice of cole slaw or french fries on the side.

Save room for dessert with a tapas option from Steam. The Linguini Obsession ($6) offers a fresh plate of linguini pasta tossed in a garlic, butter cream sauce and is served with garlic toast. For a lighter dish, try the Sexy She Crab Soup ($7). The creamy blend combines both lobster and crab for a satisfyingly steamy bisque.

Save room for your sweet tooth at either Woody's or Salt Rock. With a spectacular view, Woody's Waterfront offers a $3.75  refreshing wedge of Key Lime Pie. Salt Rock adds some pizzazz to their dessert menu with a Hot Apple Crisp Pie ($5.50). With a bourbon pecan crust, a slice of apple pie is served upside-down with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream on top.
