High Surf, Rip Current Risk In Effect On Area Beaches

The National Weather Services has declared a high rip current risk for beaches in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties ​until Monday.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL -- The National Weather Services has declared a high rip current risk for beaches in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties until Monday evening, Dec. 17.

Additionally, a high surf advisory will remain in effect until Sunday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.

The NWS said large breaking waves of 3 to 5 feet will be prevalent this afternoon through Sunday afternoon, producing localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
