More Than 20 Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Seminole Man

SEMINOLE, FL — A 27-year-old Seminole man has been charged with 22 counts of possessing and transmitting child pornography following a Pinellas County sheriff's crimes against children unit investigation.

The Pinellas sheriff's office said detectives began an investigation ater receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography was being uploaded through the internet in the Seminole area.

Detectives said their investigation led them to Tyler Owenby, who was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of transmission of child pornography.

When detectives interviewed Owenby, they said he admitted to owning the internet account and had been saving child pornography files on his cell phone. After a forensic examination of Owenby's cell phone, detectives charged him with 20 additional counts of possessing child pornography on Wednesday afternoon.
