It's Super Bowl weekend! What's going on at the Beaches, Gulfport and St. Petersburg? We have a few ideas for you!
Welcome to Patch Minute and welcome to your weekend. Every week we'll fill you in on local events and things to do in St. Pete, Gulfport and the Gulf Beaches.
St. Petersburg
This week, we're at World of Beer on 1st Ave S. and 4th St. S. World of Beer presents "The Big Game" on Super Bowl Sunday. They'll have a complimentary tailgatiing BBQ at 4 p.m. Of course, there will be drink specials from 4 until the end of the game. Specials will include half off select drafts. Want to watch the Giants and Patriots go head to head on a 30 foot screen? Head down to the Jannus Live Courtyard. MacDinton's and Jannus Live are pairing up for a courtyard tailgating party starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday. There will be drink specials and food from the grill. But, make sure to BYOB - bring your own beach chairs. Good news, the courtyard will be open to all ages.
St. Pete Beach

Looking for something with a view - other than the game? Check out some hot spots on the beaches. The Undertow on St. Pete Beach! The beach bar is hosting their yearly tradition, a super chili bowl competition. People are encouraged to bring their own chili recipies to share.
Want to put your feet in the sand during the game? Try Caddy's on Sunset beach. Caddy's has 13 HD tv's and on Sunday, there'll be t-shirt raffles and a raffle for a replica helmet. Deals include 20 wings and a pitcher for $20.
Gulfport
Are you looking for something on Friday and Saturday . . before the big game? Try swinging by Gulfport! The First Friday Art Walk is from 6 - 10 p.m. on beach boulevard. The Art Walk features live music, local art, specialty foods and more!
Alright, for you classic car lovers, you have to come out on Saturday to the So Classic Car Show on the Tangerine Greenway. Admission is free and the show is from 9 - 5 with live music throughout the event. Also, the car show is a fundraiser for the Sun Coast Law Enforcement Charities, Gulfport Teen Council and the Gulfport Police Explorers.
