UK Man Hit, Killed By Car Crossing The Street

Investigators say the victim was not in a crosswalk when he was hit and that speed and impairment were not a factor.

NORTH REDINGTON BEACH, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian car crash on the night of Friday, Jan. 25. A release from the sheriff's office says the victim was a 61-year-old man from the United Kingdom.

The victim's next of kin has not been notified, so authorities haven't released his name. He was crossing the street at 17120 Gulf Boulevard at around 11:20 p.m. when a Dodge Dart, driven by a Pinellas Park man, hit him.

The sheriff's office says the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. He was taken to Bayfront Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
