SEMINOLE, FL — An 18-year-old man from Seminole walked away unharmed Thursday after hitting utility pole guidelines, splitting the pole in half and causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Seminole man was traveling south on U.S. 19 south of Colonial Boulevard when he swerved to avoid another vehicle changing lanes. The driver entered the west grass shoulder and collided with the guidewires of a utility pole. The utility pole split in half but the power lines remained in the air above the roadway.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle unharmed as the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
