Victim Accidentally Shot In Face At Seminole Community Center
Detectives determined the victim, 20-year-old Hayden Fogerty and a 17-year-old boy, were at the community center smoking pot.

PINELLAS COUNTY - Pinellas County sheriff's detectives are investigating an accidental shooting early Friday morning in Seminole.
At 12:23 a.m., deputies responded to the Seminole Community Center at 7464 Ridge Road in Seminole for reports of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.
Detectives determined the victim, along with 20-year-old Hayden Fogerty of St. Petersburg and a 17-year-old boy, were at the community center smoking marijuana. Detectives said Fogerty had a gun and began fidgeting with it when it accidentally went off, striking the victim in the face.

During an interview with detectives, both Fogerty and the teen admitted to attempting to conceal the firearm and the shell casing by throwing it in a nearby pond.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Dive Team recovered the gun from the pond.
Fogerty and the teen were charged with one count each of tampering with physical evidence.
