Dangerous conditions are expected along area beaches with large surf and rip currents expected into Saturday night.

Onshore flow and wave action combined with high tides will cause some coastal flooding in low-lying areas from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. Residents living near those areas should pay close attention to the local weather and seek higher ground in case of flooding.

There is the potential for some roads to become impassible and water to enter structures along the shore, particularly with added wave action. In addition, boat ramps, beach access roads and decks will likely be affected.

Large breaking waves around 5 feet this afternoon will increase to 6 to 10 feet by Friday and continuing through the Saturday. The high surf will produce localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
