Railroad Crossing Construction To Tie Up Traffic In Hillsborough, Polk

PLANT CITY, FL — On Monday morning, July 17, CSX Transportation will close its rail crossing on State Road 60 just east of Clarence Gordon Jr. Road in Hillsborough County for seven days.

Detouring traffic will have a ripple effect in Polk County, with slowdowns along State Road 60 and County Line Road.

During CSXT’s closure, drivers will not be able to cross the tracks. Traffic will be detoured around the work zone using State Road 39 (James L. Redman Parkway), Alexander Street, Park Road, US 92 (Baker Street) and County Line Road.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will help redirect motorists along a lengthy bypass route. Drivers can expect heavy traffic, especially during peak-hour commutes. Alternate routes should be considered.
