A Night of Remembrance: Vigil for Separated Families & Immigration Reform

Join us for an evening of reflection, solidarity, and hope as we honor families who have been separated by immigration policies and enforcement. This night invites our community to come together in remembrance—holding space for the loved ones who are missing from dinner tables, for the parents and children living apart, and for every person still longing for safety, dignity, and belonging in our communities. We will hold space for the dozens of community members kidnapped, detained, and deported from the Manasota area and beyond.

Through candlelight and storytelling, we will acknowledge the deep, damaging impact our immigration policies are having on everyday people and renew our collective commitment for JUST immigration reform. The vigil will include readings, testimonies, and a moment of reflection for those seeking reunification and a path forward.

All are welcome—community members, advocates, faith leaders, families, and anyone moved to stand in compassion. Let us gather not only to remember, but to imagine a future rooted in justice, dignity, and reform that protects the humanity of all families.

Limited candles provided. Please bring your own, if possible (battery-operated recommended in case of wind). Donations of non-perishable food and essential items will be collected at this event. Thank you for your generosity!

This vigil is organized in coalition with the Democratic Women's Club of Sarasota County, El Pueblo Unido Tampa Bay, Church of the Trinity MCC, and the Immigration Justice Coalition of Southwest Florida.
