Roads Closed After Overnight Bar Fight, Fatal Crash
Nebraska Avenue between Hillsborough and Shadowlawn avenues will remain closed throughout morning rush hour while officers investigate the crash.

What began as a fight at a local bar ended in a deadly crash early this morning in Seminole Heights.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, Tampa Police responded to the Interstate Lounge, 9403 N. Nebraska Ave, to a report of two women fighting. When officers arrived, both women were gone, according to a Tampa Police report.
Police say a woman and a man left in a 2002 white Pontiac Grand-Am, which officers saw driving north on Nebraska Avenue. That's when police say the woman driving the car, Kathleen Trombley of Brooksville, sped up, drove on the sidewalk and attempted to run over two male pedestrians.

Trombley, and her passenger, Patrick V. Simmons of Martys Circle in Tampa then turned around and headed south on Nebraska. An officer also headed south on Nebraska in attempt to catch the vehicle. Police say Trombley ran a red light at Busch Boulevard, turned off her headlights and drove at a "high rate of speed."
As the Pontiac crossed Hillsborough Avenue, police say Trombley lost control of the car and crashed into a pole near East Frierson Avenue, near Warner Plumbing and Supply. The driver was ejected and died at the scene. Simmons suffered a broken leg and was taken to Tampa General Hospital.
