County Officials Reject Trinity Cafe's Request for Funding

The cafe feeds homeless people in Tampa Bay.

In an effort to raise money for a officials from Trinity Cafe asked county commissioners this week for something to help with the Nebraska Avenue project: taxpayer money.

On Wednesday, their request was rejected, according to a story on tbo.com.

Funds have already been raised for the project - which would relocate the cafe from inside The Salvation Army on Florida Avenue to its own building at Nebraska Avenue near Columbus - but about $200,000 is needed before the cafe can be completed, said Cindy Davis, program director.
