Sheriff's Office Hosting Bicycle Registration Event

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is holding four bicycle registration events around the county.

The purpose is to curb bicycle theft, which is a growing issue in the county, officials say.

Bike registration is free, and bike lights will be given away while supplies last.

The event will be held at the following locations:

• University Area Community Center, 14013 N. 22nd Street in Tampa
• Sadie Park, 510 E. Sadie Road in Brandon
• Channel Park Trailhead, 9201 W. Waters Avenue in Tampa
• Gardenville Recreation Center, 6219 Symmes Road in Gibsonton
