Solid Waste Collection Delayed Due to Holiday

Commercial services will occur one day after the scheduled collection day for some residents, city officials say.

This just in from City of Tampa officials:

City of Tampa solid waste customers with regularly scheduled collection on Friday, March 29 will be affected by the Spring Day Holiday.

There will be no residential garbage, yard-waste recycling, or blue-box recycling collection on Friday, March 29. Garbage collection will resume on the next scheduled service day - Tuesday, April 2 - and blue box recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Friday, April 5.

Commercial Services will occur one day after the scheduled collection day. Commercial accounts scheduled for service on Friday, March 29 will be serviced on Saturday, March 30. Commercial accounts scheduled for service Saturday, March 30 will be serviced on schedule. Normal collection schedules will resume Monday, April 1.

McKay Bay Transfer Station/Scalehouse will be closed on Spring Day, and the normal schedule will resume on Saturday, March 30.
