Tampa Police Search For Family Dollar Store Robber

A man robbed the store on July 4 and fled on foot.

Tampa Police are searching for a man who robbed the Family Dollar Store at 11616 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, Thursday, July 4.

The robber entered the store at 5:32 p.m. and walked up to the register to purchase a lollipop. He then slipped the cashier a note while she was placing his money into the register. The note stated that he had a gun in his bag and he would shoot her if she did not give him the money inside the cash drawer.  

The cashier handed over all of the money and the robber fled out the front door, heading east on foot.

Police officers conducted a thorough search for the robber who frequently visit the Family Dollar Store and may still be in the area. 

He is a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall with protruding cheek bones and a sunken face. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with white letters, a white tank top, light-colored shorts, sandals and carrying a red bag.
