2 Arrested In Tampa Shooting
Two people are in custody following a Monday evening shooting outside the 29th Street Store.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department has announced two arrests in connection with a Monday night shooting that left a man injured and a car damaged.
According to the agency, officers responded to the 29th Street Store, 3602 29th St. N., just before 9:30 p.m. July 31. When they arrived, they found Tykeem Morgan, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound. Morgan was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police wrote in an email to media.
As officers began to investigate, they came across two people in the 3600 block of North 28th Street who were wearing clothing that matched the descriptions of those allegedly involved in the shooting.

Police say Micah Tillman, 21, was detained along with a 16-year-old boy. Tillman had an outstanding warrant and was brought into custody, the agency noted in an email to media. After being read his rights, police say Tillman confessed to shooting at a person. He was subsequently charged with felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public and shooting a deadly missing into a vehicle.
Meanwhile, Morgan was able to positively identify the teen as the second person involved in his shooting. The teenager was arrested on such charges as juvenile delinquent in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public and shooting a deadly missile into a vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, police were also approached by Antonio Wingfield, 43, who told them his vehicle had been shot several times during the incident that left Morgan injured.
Morgan’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. Further information about the shooting is not yet available, including a motive. Patch is not releasing the name of the teenager due to his age.
