2 Firefighters Injured While Fighting FL Scrapyard Fire
Two Hillsborough County firefighters were injured while battling a three-alarm scrapyard fire in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Two firefighters were hospitalized while battling a three-alarm scrapyard fire in Tampa on Thursday morning, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
The 911 dispatch center received multiple calls about the scrapyard fire on Paul Street around 9:30 a.m.
Crews found heavy flames when they arrived and escalated the response to a three-alarm fire, HCFR said.

Two firefighters were brought to a local hospital in stable condition. The nature of their injuries wasn’t shared. No other injuries were reported.
Dozens of HCFR units remained at the scene more than 10 hours after the fire broke out on Thursday.

Firefighters used heavy machinery to move pies of debris, allowing aerial trucks to reach the heart of the fire, HCFR said. Their work was briefly interrupted by lightning.
