20-Year-Old Woman Charged With DUI Manslaughter In Fatal Tampa Crash
Chelsea Hernandez was arrested after she struck a dump truck at an Interstate 4 underpass and her front-seat passenger died, police said.

TAMPA, FL — A 20-year-old woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter and driving without a license involving a death following a fatal crash Wednesday in Tampa.
According to Tampa police, Chelsea Hernandez was arrested following a crash around 2:30 p.m. between a 2006 Scion TC and a 2020 Peterbilt dump truck at the intersection of Interstate 4 West and East Columbus Drive under the overpass.
Police said the Scion TC failed to stop at a red light at the off-ramp intersection and struck the dump truck.

When officers arrived, they said there was an injured 25-year-old man in the front passenger seat of the Scion. Officers began performing lifesaving measures but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Hernandez and the backseat passengers of the Scion were also taken to the hospital where they were treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening. The driver of the dump truck was unharmed.
