Accused Robber Stabbed By Clerk Captured
Hillsborough County deputies say a man stabbed by a store clerk during an alleged robbery has been caught.

TAMPA, FL — A 44-year-old Tampa man stabbed by a store clerk during an alleged Sunday robbery has been brought into custody. Daniel Dwayne Eubanks was captured late Tuesday afternoon and taken to a local hospital for treatment of stab wounds, Hillsborough County deputies say.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies caught up with Eubanks at a home in the 14000 block of San Casa Place in Tampa around 4 p.m. June 20. Once he receives medical clearance, authorities intend to book him into the Hillsborough County Jail on armed robbery, grand theft and aggravated battery charges.
The case against Eubanks began to unfold around 5:45 a.m. June 18 when a man walked into the 14516 N. 22nd St. Sunoco and “demanded a money bag,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. The clerk and the man got involved in a struggle over a baseball bat that was behind the counter, deputies said.

“When the suspect overpowered the clerk and removed the bat, the clerk stabbed the suspect in the abdomen,” the email said. The struggle continued until the clerk fled the store and notified nearby deputies.
When the clerk ran for help, deputies say the man took a brown paper bag full of cash from behind the counter and took off himself.
