Ale for Alz Pub Crawl Set for South Tampa

Money raised during the event benefits Alzheimer's awareness campaigns.

Tampa, FL – When Rick Myers was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of dementia at 51 years old, his daughter Alissa searched for a way to honor her father.

With her birthday and Father’s Day coinciding in 2015, she came up with the idea of turning her birthday party into an awareness fundraiser. With the help of family and friends, the small celebration turned into the Ales for Alz non-profit charity.

Now in its second year, Ales for Alz will host its annual SoHo Pub Crawl on Saturday, June 18 from 1 to 8 p.m. The event courses through four of South Tampa’s iconic bars, which will feature food and drink specials plus special events.

Tickets are $15, which provides the purchaser a wristband that grants access to the specials at each bar. People who donate $100 or more to Alz for Ale will receive a VIP package as well as admission to the pub crawl.

Money raised from the event will go toward dementia awareness campaigns and the Alzheimer’s Association.
