Hillsborough County Residents To See An Added COVID-19 Testing Location
As Hillsborough County sees a spike in COVID-19 cases because of the dominant omicron variant, more testing sites are opening.
TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County residents will soon have another COVID-19 testing site option as positive cases continue to increase because of the omicron variant, a news county news release said.
Free COVID-19 testing will be offered at Progress Village Park in Tampa starting Thursday, Dec. 30 at 9 a.m. The site's testing schedule will be seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., staff said. This is a walk-in testing site; appointments are not required.
A day after the 8701 Progress Boulevard, Tampa, site officially opens, it will close Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 to observe the New Year's holiday. Doors will reopen Sunday.

Other COVID-19 testing locations in Hillsborough County include:
- The West Tampa Community Resource Center, 2103 N. Rome Ave., Tampa, open seven days a week, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Vaccinations, booster shots and monoclonal antibody therapy are also offered at this location. It will also be closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Proof of medical insurance is recommended and should be presented at the time of the COVID-19 test, county officials said.

"People without medical insurance will still be tested for free," the county said. "There are numerous other locations throughout the county, including local pharmacies, that are offering COVID-19 testing."
