TAMPA, FL — As the Tampa Police Department continues to investigate a Wednesday night shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead, police have announced an arrest in the case. Authorities say Alexeis Perez faces first-degree murder and armed robbery charges in the death of Antonio Roman.
The investigation into the shooting began when police were called to the Tzadik Oaks apartments off 113th Avenue East around 11:38 p.m. July 26. When they arrived, they found Roman suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital as a trauma alert, but died from his injuries.
Perez was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail Thursday. He remained there without bond on Friday morning, jail records indicate.
