Beer & Burger Throwdown to Support Students Survival

TAMPA, FL – While the USF football team is on the road playing Syracuse, a different throw down will be happening at its home stadium.

The Beer & Burger Throwdown will take place Saturday, Sept. 17 from noon to 6 p.m. in the north parking log of Raymond James Stadium. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Students Survival of Tampa Bay.

Tickets for the event are $10. The event’s organizer, Simply Events, has limited the number of tickets for the Beer & Burger Throwdown due to a past event running out of burgers. Advance tickets can be purchased online and remaining tickets will be available at the gate with cash only.

The family-friendly and dog-friendly event will feature an afternoon of events for all ages along with sampling from some of the area’s top hamburger and craft beer establishments.

Fourteen burger vendors are scheduled to attend, offering $3 samples as well as regular specialty burger items. The participating vendors are: James Joyce, Eats! American Grill, Wow That’s Fresh, Square 1, Daily Eats, Carmel Kitchen, Prime 19 Grill, Bar Louie, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Freddy’s Steakburger, Mobile Peluso, Jimmy’s Slider Truck, Got Lobstah and Georgia Big Boys BBQ.

Five breweries also will be participating, offering free samples of their craft beers: Big Storm Brewery, Silverking Brewery, Motorworks Brewing, Nine State Brewery and Home Brewer Joe Amoriello. The Big Storm Brewing beer trucks also will feature eight different brews for sale along with some domestics.

Attendees can vote for the Best Burger Sample, Best Brew and Most Creative Craft.

There’s no need to worry about missing any college football action during the event, as games will be shown on 55-inch televisions provided by Rent King under the Big Storm and GTE Financial hospitality tents.

• Adult Gaming Area, featuring cornhole, giant pong and giant jenga
• Kid’s zone, 2,000 square foot area all-you-can-play for $7
• Dog Park, sponsored by Tampa K9 Solutions
• Beer Chugging and Beer Belly Wet T-Shirt contests
• I Heart Radio DJs and Emcees
