Body Found In Tampa Vacant Lot

The Tuesday afternoon discovery of a body in a vacant lot in Tampa is under investigation.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death that was uncovered Tuesday afternoon.

According to the agency, an adult’s body was discovered around 1:30 p.m. July 25 in a vacant lot on the corner of 131st Avenue and North Taliaferro Avenue.

“Preliminary indication is that the victim did not die of natural causes,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities have not said whether the body belongs to a man or woman. Instead, they said the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to make a positive identification and to determine the cause of death.

No further information is available at this time.
