Boxer Escapes From Vet’s Office

Tampa residents are being asked to help bring Shelby, a 4-year-old boxer mix, back home to her family.

TAMPA, FL — It’s not uncommon for dogs to be a little bristly about going to the vet’s office. It seems a Tampa boxer mix named Shelby took her disapproval to a new level Wednesday morning.

“Shelby escaped from BluePearl Veterinary Partners hospital in Tampa Wednesday morning and we’re asking for the public’s help to reunite her with her family,” the practice explained in an email. Shelby is a 4-year-old mix who is brown and white. She weighs in at an estimated 50 pounds.

The vet’s office said the little runaway has been spotted several times throughout the day, including along Busch Boulevard near the Dale Mabry Highway overpass. But, “we haven’t been able to catch her,” the email added.

Businesses in the area and Hillsborough County Animal Services have been made aware of Shelby’s disappearance. Anyone who sees her is asked to contact BluePearl at info.fl@bluepearlvet.com or by calling 813-933-8944. The veterinary office is located at 3000 Busch Lake Blvd.
