FL Mother Charged With DUI Accused Of Driving 4 Times Legal Alcohol Limit On I-275

A Bradenton woman found with her 3-year-old son in her SUV on I-275 was charged with charged with DUI and child neglect, reports said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A Bradenton mother was charged with driving under the influence after she was caught nearly four times the legal alcohol limit Thursday afternoon on Interstate 275, according to multiple reports.

Holly Ross’s 3-year-old son was in the backseat of her SUV when she was seen throwing up on the highway at mile marker 40 just before 4:30 p.m., WFLA said.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper found Holly Lynn Ross allegedly drunk at the scene with her 3-year-old son in the backseat, Fox 13 reported.

The trooper smelled alcohol on her breath after noticing she had difficulty standing and walking, and she failed multiple field sobriety tests before she was arrested, ABC Action News said.

She gave two breath samples at the Hillsborough County Jail, which were recorded at .303 and .301, which is nearly four times the legal limit in Florida, reports said. After her arrest, troopers learned that her SUV was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge when she repeatedly hit a wall while trying to pull over in the shoulder.

She was charged with DUI, child neglect and failing to stay at the scene of a crash.
