Brandon Man Dies, Wife Seriously Injured In Single-Car Crash

The driver lost control on the Selmon Expressway exit ramp and left the road, colliding with a traffic reflector and traffic signal support.

TAMPA, FL — A 71-year-old Brandon man died and his 71-year-old wife was seriously injured following a crash Tuesday on the Selmon Expressway exit ramp to U. S. 301.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the couple were in their car headed west on the exit ramp at 3:37 p.m. when the driver lost control and left the road, colliding with a traffic reflector and traffic signal support.

The driver died at the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital.
