Charlie Crist Asked to Pull Campaign Ad

The Democratic gubernatorial candidate was asked to pull a campaign ad from TV and the Internet Friday after a complaint.

Charlie Crist is in hot water with the Pinellas County Schools for a campaign ad.

The former Republican governor’s campaign is facing a request from the Pinellas County School District to pull a running ad filmed at St. Petersburg High School, the Associated Press reports.

The initial complaint of the ad came Thursday from the Republican Party of Florida.

According to the AP, an administrator granted Crist permission to film the ad at the high school, the former governor and Democratic candidate’s alma mater.

Pinellas County Schools responded Friday.

“This error in judgment should no way be interpreted as an endorsement on the part of the Pinellas County School District or the Pinellas County School for for Mr. Crist,” the district said in a statement.

Pinellas County students return to class Monday, Aug. 18.
