8-Year-Old Child Struck By SUV On Tampa Street

The child was taken to a local hospital with a broken leg and several lacerations.

TAMPA, FL - An 8-year-old child was stuck by an SUV near Myrtle Street and Serena Drive in Tampa on Tuesday morning. The child, identified as Shon Smikle, was taken to a local hospital with a broken leg and several lacerations.

The child ran across Myrtle Street and into the path of a Toyota Highlander driven by Nancy Levy, 60, of Tampa. Levy could not avoid hitting the child and stopped after the crash. The driver was not cited.
