Concorde Career Institute Announces New Tampa Campus President

Concorde Career Institute has announced the appointment of Sheryl Gunning as President of its Tampa campus, where the Institute provides career-focused education in diagnostic medicine, allied health, dental, and patient care programs.

Gunning, an accomplished leader specializing in developing high-performing teams and enhancing customer engagement and community involvement, will lead initiatives to further the college’s mission in promoting a positive learning environment for Concorde-Tampa’s diverse student body.

“As the new campus president, it is super important to me that our Institute radiates positivity and welcomes all no matter their race, gender, age, creed, and how they identify themselves,” said Gunning. “I plan to use the knowledge I’ve gained from my continuing education DEI course with University of South Florida to help each and every student feel well-supported at Concorde.”

Prior to joining Concorde Career Institute, Gunning worked in several leadership roles across different industries, including financial services, sales, and higher education. Within the higher education sector, she has served as a director of admissions, district director of recruitment, college director, and director of client engagement. Through these roles, Gunning has developed extensive knowledge in communication and building relationships with key stakeholders.

“I believe that Gunning will bring a new perspective to the Concorde-Tampa team, as she has industry knowledge in and outside of higher education,” said Concorde Career Institute CEO Jami Frazier. “Her experiences in both business administration and sales will help Concorde strengthen and develop new relationships with community resources.”

Gunning attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. She also has her Master of Business Administration from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management.

Concorde’s Tampa campus, located in the Westshore and Northwest Tampa Bay area, provides students with career-driven college programs in cardiovascular sonography, diagnostic medical sonography, medical assistant, medical office administration, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy, dental assistant, dental hygiene, respiratory therapy, and surgical technologist.
