TAMPA, FL — Halloween is coming to the Florida State Fairgrounds in an educational and family-friendly way. On Saturday, Oct. 21, Cracker Country Living History Museum will host its sixth annual "Tall Tales of Old Florida" event.
Tall Tales of Old Florida opens Cracker Country to children and families, inviting them to explore the outdoor museum by lantern at night. This event gives guests the opportunity to learn more about Florida's history through spooky and fun storytellers along the way, chronicling uniquely Florida stories about animals, giants and other legendary creatures.
Cracker Country is a living history museum that represents aspects of home life, commerce and transportation as it was in many rural Florida communities at the end of the 19th century. Guests will also enjoy a magic lantern show, featuring turn-of-the-20th-century projection technology that led to the birth of the film industry.
