Here are the top five stories in Tampa today:

1. Curaleaf, a leading international cannabis company, has re-launched its Feed the Block program. The program is a multi-state fundraising initiative that benefits 24 locally run food banks. Feeding Tampa Bay will be included in the program in the fight against food insecurity. (Tampa Patch)

2. Temple Terrace city leaders want to sell three acres of real estate on Riverhills Drive to allow for the potential development of luxury apartments or an assisted living facility. Residents are concerned about the traffic the sale could bring to the area, however Interim City Manager Steve Spina says he is confident an incoming developer would address the issue. (ABC Action News)

3. More than 6,000 people have voted early in Hillsborough County so far for the 2022 primary election. The election includes nonpartisan issues and races for school board and judges. Early voting runs through August 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at 26 sites. (Spectrum News 13)

4. An 83,000-square-foot, five-story storage building at 3935 West Cypress Street near Midtown Tampa has sold for $18.5 million. The facility was built and sold by Freedman's Development. The buyer has not been disclosed. (Business Observer)

5. Scream-A-Geddon is returning to Dade City starting September 9 through October 31 at 27839 Saint Joe Road. Tickets are now available and the event is open to all ages, but recommended for adults and teenagers. This year guests can enjoy new food and beverage options including Vato's Tacos, Slices & Co., Oh My Grill!, and more. (Creative Loafing Tampa)

  • Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority is adding additional ramps to the Reversible Express Lanes (REL) to help improve morning traffic for drivers headed westbound. (WTSP)
  • Julie Pace, senior vice president and executive editor of The Associated Press, will visit the Straz Center in downtown Tampa for an evening of conversation on Tuesday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. (Tampa Bay Newswire)
  • A record number of students are moving on-campus this fall at the University of South Florida. In Tampa, nearly 6,500 students will reside on-campus and more than 900 students will reside on the St. Petersburg campus, bringing the total number living in residence halls to nearly 7,400.
