Deaf, Blind 4-Month-Old Puppies Require Special Needs

TAMPA, FL — They're as cute as can be but require a patient, loving family that can attend to their special needs.

Two-month-old Catahoula leopard mixed puppies Lily and Lando were born deaf and with microphthalmia (undeveloped eyes).

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is looking for someone who has experience with deaf or blind dogs and are willing to do the research and work to give these pups a happy home.

Lily and Lando are a cautionary tale about irresponsible breeders. Their eye condition is congenital, meaning it was passed down through poor breeding standards. While white dogs can often be deaf, Lily and Lando are examples of how irresponsible breeding is detrimental.
