Deputies Deliver Baby Girl At Florida State Fair

TAMPA, FL - A couple of Hillsborough County deputies had an interesting day at the Florida State Fair on Friday. They helped deliver a baby.

About 4 p.m., the deputies were patrolling at the Florida State Fair when they heard a woman asking for help. Deputies Roberto Ramirez and Henry Echenique soon discovered the pregnant woman's water had broken.

The veteran deputies jumped into action and within minutes, they helped the woman's husband deliver a healthy baby girl near the Expo Hall in the main fairway. Echenique caught the baby and held her until paramedics arrived.

A total of 10 deputies assisted with the delivery. The mom, who has not been identified, was transported to Saint Joseph's Women's Hospital. She and the baby are in stable condition.
