Driver Killed In Crash On I-75 In Tampa
Troopers said the driver was fatally struck while standing outside his disabled minivan in the travel lanes of I-75.
TAMPA, FL — A driver has died following a crash over the weekend on I-75 in Hillsborough County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 55-year-old driver from Tampa was traveling in a Dodge Caravan northbound on I-75 near Milepost 263 on Sunday when his minivan became disabled and stopped in the travel lanes.
Troopers said the driver exited the minivan and stood to the left of it. A short time later, a 23-year-old driver of a Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound on I-75.

Troopers said the driver was unable to stop or avoid a collision. As a result, He struck the left rear of the minivan and then struck the driver who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The crash, which occurred around 2:15 a.m., remains under investigation.
