Trucker Arrested For Leaving Fatal I-75 Crash
A KY man towing a cattle trailer hit and killed a man who pulled over to help a truck driver who broke down on I-75, FL Highway Patrol said.
TAMPA, FL — A truck driver towing a cattle trailer was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 75, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
A tractor-trailer truck driven by a 25-year-old Gainesville man was heading north on I-75 just north of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard when it broke down around 11:30 p.m. and stopped on the outside shoulder of the highway.
A car driven by the truck driver’s brother, a 27-year-old Ocala man, stopped just ahead of the truck to help.

The 23-year-old Kentucky man towing the cattle trailer, Noah Alexander Riley, was heading north on I-75 around the same time and drifted onto the shoulder. Riley's vehicle hit the driver’s side of the tractor-trailer, as well as the Ocala man and his car, FHP said.
The victim, who was not identified, died at the scene, state police said.

After the crash, Riley left the scene and stopped at a gas station at State Road 56 and Cypress Ridge Boulevard, FHP said. A trooper found him changing a tire at the gas station.
Riley was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving a death and was booked into Hillsborough County Jail.
