TAMPA, FL — After 31 years, Evos, a fast-casual restaurant chain known for healthier burgers, fries and shakes, including vegetarian and vegan options, is closing its final three stores, which are all in the Tampa Bay area.

The Tampa-based chain was founded in 1994 by Dino Lambridis, Alkis Crassas and Michael Jeffers, according to the company’s website.

The locations in Tampa and Carroll have already closed an employee at the St. Petersburg restaurant told Patch.

The St. Petersburg eatery at 2631 4th Street N. will close for good on Friday.

“We are grateful for the 22 years of serving the community and appreciate all of your support as we navigated various storms, the pandemic and economic challenges together,” a sign on the door of the St. Petersburg restaurant reads. “We are pleased that we were able to represent the EVOS brand, which kick-started the industry movement of introducing healthier ingredients and cooking methods as well as leading by example with green principles.”

A news release from the company didn’t include a reason for the abrupt closures, the Business Observer reported.

“We’ve enjoyed this chapter of our lives immensely, but all good things come to an end,” Jeffers said in a statement. “We have no regrets and we leave having taken steps to secure jobs and futures for our valued team. We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve our community, which has rewarded us many times over.”
